We hope you’re participating – or planning too – in some thought provoking and useful conversations that are happening on a daily basis 24/7, virtually everywhere in the world. I’m referring to Sitecore events, social media and webinars that are designed to shape and enable useful conversations that will help your team achieve greater success.

Events: Let’s start with in-person events. Sitecore’s London team just hosted Digital Trendspot on October 13th, featuring more than 20 speakers focused on digital strategies, online marketing, web development and technology platforms. Sitecore customers and partners presented revealing case studies that provided details regarding best practices and their unique results. Many of the presentations will be available online for your access in the coming days; stay tuned.

I participated in London and had an opportunity to talk with a number of the Digital Trendspot speakers on camera about their case studies, takeaways and insights. These brief video conversations are intended to summarize key points, and will be available online with the presentations; stay tuned.

Gartner Symposium ITxpo in Orlando is wrapping up this week. Sitecore’s North American team met with customers, partners, and business technology leaders and practitioners to discuss and demonstrate CMS, portal, intranet and marketing automation strategies and solutions. The Gartner event achieved record-breaking attendance with nearly 8,000 people including Gartner analysts and industry leaders such as John Chambers, Marc Benioff and Steve Ballmer.

Sitecore’s team in Japan just participated in the Nikkei BP IT Expo 2010 event with panel and solution presentations; a Virtual IT Expo 2010 event will follow shortly for people who were not able to attend the in-person event this past week. And the team is making final preparations for Gartner Symposium ITxpo and adtech Tokyo next week.

Social Media: We are pleased with the early success of the new Sitecore Best Practice Blogs initiative including contribution from a number of customers, partners and subject matter experts. I first wrote about the initiative in August 2010, including (15) unique but related topics.

Response from the community has been positive and these blogs are yet another way to participate in meaningful conversations as well as start them with your subject matter expertise. Contact us if you would like to contribute with your best practice blog posts.

Other sources of social media engagement and value include our various Twitter channels, where we start and respond to conversations that are useful to and in tune with a wide variety of community members including customers, partners, developers and the curious.
