The 20th year of the famed conference kicked off this morning with overflowing crowds and many stranded in registration lines; ITxpo certainly has an allure. What’s all the buzz about?
In a nutshell -- constant change and growth! Peter Sondergaard, SVP Research at Gartner, along with other senior analysts, took the stage this morning to show what 20 years – historically speaking – looks like in terms of constant change and growth in the IT industry driven by global consumption and innovation. Does the past shed light on what’s to come? You bet. The massive adoption of the personal computer, mobility and web are three significant change agents of the past 20 years. That said, Sondergaard presented his thoughts about four trends that will help business and IT leaders to collaborate, create value and deliver desirable outcomes for the next 20 years: • Cloud computing • Social computing • Context aware computing • Pattern based strategy and decision making The #GartnerSym Twitter feed is humming along and there is excitement in the air here in Orlando. If you’re onsite this week, drop by booth #404 to ask about our award-wining CMS software and enter a drawing for an Xbox 360 250GB. Stay tuned for more #GartherSym details from this Sitecore Community blog. I’ll try to find and link today’s keynote PPT in this post.
