ATP World Tour Goes Mobile and Beyond for Men’s Pro Tennis

Whether you’re a tennis fan or not -- you’ll be inspired by the ATP, Digitaria and Sitecore success story. ATP’s lean, diverse publishing team led by John Phillips, senior vice president of digital marketing, has got their real-time publishing game down to a science. And mobile is changing the game.

The ATP is the governing body of the men's professional tennis circuit ATP World Tour, and serves a global sport and broad audience with 62 tournaments in 32 countries. ATP World Tour multilingual websites were the first of many built on top of a highly scalable ATP Digital Platform designed and developed by Digitaria with Sitecore software.

The ATP has enjoyed significant success during the past couple of years but they wanted to do more to grow, engage and serve a global community of tennis fans, professional players and corporate sponsors. And they wanted to maximize their original software investment and limited resources. This is where mobile comes into play. ATP’s strategic marketing plan began in 2009 with the launch of the ATP World Tour brand and FEEL IT advertising campaign which intended to connect the global attributes of the circuit with the unique brand character of men’s professional tennis. In order to reach the broadest audience the ATP required a digital platform and new websites which would establish a presence for the ATP World Tour brand and translate web experiences across a variety of languages in many countries.
