This post describes how to prevent Sitecore from generating WebDAV log files.

To prevent Sitecore from generating WebDAV log files, comment the entire /configuration/log4net/appender named WebDAVLogFileAppender in the web.config file. Sitecore will write WebDAV messages to the default log file instead of using a separate WebDAV log file, with less detail than it would write to the WebDAV log file.

There may be other, better ways to prevent WebDAV from generating a log file.

  • I did this. I get the full stack trace in the main log file, no second webdav log file. I do get the exception message twice but minor.

    <logger name="Sitecore.Diagnostics.WebDAV" additivity="false">
    <level value="INFO" />
    <!--<appender-ref ref="WebDAVLogFileAppender" />-->
    <appender-ref ref="LogFileAppender" />
    </logger>
