Digital agency Reactive has partnered with the Australian National Maritime Museum to launch a dedicated microsite for the Museum's major summer show, AQUA: A Journey into the World of Water.

Built on Sitecore CMS Azure Edition, the AQUA microsite is the first Australasian Sitecore site to use the cloud computing platform Windows Azure.

Developed by Reactive, the informative microsite provides an easily accessible platform for those wanting to learn more about AQUA. It includes dynamic imagery, a clear layout and straightforward navigation that enables site visitors to quickly access ticket information, event times and location information.

Says Tim O'Neill co-founder and joint managing director, Reactive: "The AQUA microsite is a great example of what can be achieved through Sitecore. Reactive has always recognised the value in providing our clients with the most suitable platforms for their needs. Using Sitecore CMS with Windows Azure hosting for the AQUA site gives the Australian National Maritime Museum a fast and efficient way of managing and distributing Web content."

"The Australian National Maritime Museum needed a Content Management System that enabled them to present several different sites into a singled unified platform," said Philipp Heltewig, managing director, Sitecore Australia and New Zealand. "Sitecore provides an easy way to centralise all Web sites, reducing maintenance burden, and delivering a real-time, personalised Web experience."

Kevin Sumption, director of the Australian National Maritime Museum added: "The AQUA microsite has been a great way for our visitors to engage further with the issues presented in AQUA. The museum wanted an online experience that matched the visually spectacular digital experience in AQUA. The microsite achieved this by creating a fun and dynamic online platform where users could discover more information, learn about related events and discuss their experience."

AQUA: A Journey into the World of Water is a spectacular 30-minute experience using interactive digital technology and 360⁰ screens to tell the story of water. It has been created by ONE DROP, an initiative of Guy Laliberté founder of Cirque du Soleil. It is currently showing at the Australian National Maritime Museum until the 26th February, 2012.
