Public sector a strategic target for Sitecore in Sweden.

When the Swedish Agency for Public Management (Statskontoret) was assigned by the Swedish Government to negotiate IT services for the public sector Sitecore received, through its Solution Partner Metamatrix, an agreement within the area of ‘Information supply 2005’. The agreement is valid for two years with the option to extend a further two and, as a conservative estimate, is worth eight to ten million SEK.

“We are convinced that the reason that the Agency chose us is a strong, documented track-record when it comes to delivering innovative and reliable content management systems to the public sector,” said Henrik Breum Andersen, Swedish Partner Manager, Sitecore

Sitecore who are headquartered in Denmark are one of the few non-Swedish content management suppliers chosen by the Agency.

“To have this opportunity to expand work within the public sector is extremely important for Sitecore. This is entirely in line with our strategy to address the public market in Sweden. Until now we have been extremely successful in Denmark where we have 35% of the public sector market today. This includes the local administration for the three biggest cities; Copenhagen, Odense and Aarhus amongst others. Now an enormous new market has opened up for us. We are estimating five new web projects a month during the next three years,” continued Henrik Breum Andersen.

The agreement with the Agency is valid for IT services to the Swedish authorities and commences the 20 January 2006.

Successful Concept

An important part of the supplier selection process was previous experience; The Swedish Maritime Museums (including the Vasa museum), Perstorp Industries and the political party ’Christian Democrats’ are already on the reference list for Sitecore.

Sitecore produces content management software, which allows companies in a simple and manageable fashion to control the content of their websites and makes integration with external IT systems, such as the CRM possible. Sitecore’s system is based on Microsoft .NET technology and the Worldwide Web consortium’s open Internet standards.

ICT easyFairs i Göteborg

Sitecore is participating at the easyfairs’ ICT in Gothenburg (Göteborg) on the 18-19 January 2006 and will be presenting the latest version of Sitecore V5. This is the first time that the product has been presented to the public in Sweden. Henrik Breum Andersen and Lars Fløe Nielsen will be in attendance at the fair, which is one of the biggest IT fairs in the region and is expecting many visitors.
