Sitecore’s Site of the Year contest recognizes customers who have leveraged Sitecore’s technology to develop the most outstanding websites. Sitecore’s partners and customers submitted nominations on organizations that have implemented Sitecore’s CMS to deliver more effective business processes and advanced their online strategies. The Sitecore judges considered creativity, integration with rich data sources and applications, ability to educate, motivate an action and the overall user experience.
kino.dk worked with Sitecore partner, Netmester, to build several creative elements into the kino.dk site with extensive use of Web 2.0 technology including, “iTunes like” browsing of movies, advanced display of images and integration with several online ticket booking applications. Sitecore’s advanced search capabilities give site editors the ability to automatically generate tags for directors and actors when writing online content for new movies. Furthermore, e-commerce has been seamlessly integrated with Sitecore to allow site visitors to buy theater tickets online, and will soon be extended with an online store, allowing visitors to purchase movie merchandise.
“Our new site has been very well received by the users, and exceeded our expectations both in terms of visitors as well as our revenue goals,” said Christian Lund, CEO, kino.dk.
