Stokke Leverages Sitecore for Improved Search Engine Optimization and Multilingual Website Capabilities
Global children’s furniture and equipment company site dramatically increases user traffic by offering dynamic content and support for 28 languages
San Francisco and Oslo, March 19, 2009 - Sitecore, the leading provider of .NET Web Content Management System (CMS) and portal software, today announced that Stokke, an international manufacturer of premium children’s products, has deployed Sitecore’s Web CMS solution to increase Search Engine Optimization (SEO), enhance website multilingual capabilities and deliver compelling content. The revamped site significantly increased visitor traction and is able to manage content in 28 languages.
With its new website, Stokke increased search engine traffic from 1 percent to more than 30 percent. Pinpointing popular keyword combinations and trends, Sitecore’s SEO module provides content editors with the ability to easily view and adjust the site’s content based on search pattern rules. Alerts notify content editors to add Alt-tags and metadata to maximize SEO. In addition, the built-in SEO friendly capabilities ensure compliance with other industry best practices and a content-optimized site.
Partnering with industry-leading translation software provider Clay Tablet, Sitecore delivers a seamless translation solution for Stokke’s content editors to easily submit updates to be translated into 28 languages directly through its Web CMS. After translation, each piece of content is sent directly to its appropriate place on the website. Sitecore’s multi-language functionalities give Stokke more accurate translations, faster turnaround time with reduced costs.
“What we love about Sitecore is that we’ve been able to combine creativity, sophistication and efficiency,” said Kjetil Aarseth, communications manager, Stokke. “Sitecore is saving us not only time, but also risk, since we can now rest assured that headlines, text and links are in the correct spot. Our website redesign is exactly what our end-users and search engines needed. We’re managing many different countries and languages with ease, and we’re creating a community among our site visitors.”
Sitecore’s Web CMS also enables Stokke’s non-technical staff to make site edits and updates. Editors are able to easily and quickly add interesting content such as advice and tips about parenting and children. This facilitates conversation between site visitors, which increased site stickiness and helped increase site visitors by five times. Stokke worked with Sitecore partner Portalia to build their site.
“Our CMS helps Stokke to produce a more content-rich website that takes its product marketing to a new level,” said Paul Markun, vice president of marketing for Sitecore. “Now Stokke can deliver rich and compelling content that can further its global brand.”
