Danish Sitecore - the only Scandinavian firm at CeBIT with Microsoft
Monday, march 1, 2004
Microsoft has certified Sitecore, the Danish software company, for its tight integration with and utilisation of the Microsoft platform. With Sitecore's content management system users can now edit dynamic web pages with, for example InfoPath. Sitecore has, at the same time been granted a place on the Microsoft stand at CeBIT, where they will demonstrate their software.
Sitecore has achieved .NET certification from Microsoft for their Content Management System and the associated development tools, which are entirely based on Microsoft's .NET and the W3C open standards.
The close integration between Microsoft's and Sitecore's systems represents a significant leap in usability. Site administrators and editors, that create content for the Internet and Intranet can now update pages from within the well-known Office 2003 environment by using, for example, Microsoft Word or InfoPath as the user interface.
Simultaneously integration between Sitecore's Content Management System and Microsoft's .NET development platform makes it significantly easier to integrate data from the Company's strategic systems such as the ERP or CRM. Through, for example, InfoPath the employees can now edit all information with the same tool and present it coherently on dynamic web pages.
"Our customers have two fundamental requirements for their Content management system; it must be user friendly while also able to integrate with external data. Therefore, at a very early juncture, we chose the Microsoft .NET architecture. In this way we make use of all of Microsoft's well known programs in our user interface and .NET is designed to 'talk with' a company's existing data and servers", Said Michael Seifert, CEO, Sitecore.
Sitecore's system collaborates with a broad range of Microsoft products, for example Navision Financials, Microsoft SharePoint Portal server 2003, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and the anticipated Yukon XML server (the codename for the new Microsoft XML database server), which Sitecore is already Beta-testing.
Microsoft has a global program that certifies the most important producers of third party products. Sitecore is the first Danish company, and until now the only Content Management system in Northern Europe, that has received the '.NET Connected' certification.
With Microsoft at CeBIT
In addition to the certification Sitecore has achieved the rare privilege for a Danish Company of receiving a place on the Microsoft stand at CeBIT in Hannover, which is the biggest IT exhibition in Europe, and one of the biggest in the world.
"It is a great honour to be on the stand with Microsoft and an important demonstration for us. In combination with the Certificate this sets us clearly apart from the competition. Our ambition at CeBIT is to enter a number of new Partner agreements, particularly with the German market, on which we have a strong focus at the moment." said Michael Seifert.
"There are only a few of Microsoft's many partners that we can have with us at CeBIT. Sitecore were given a place on our stand in recognition of their innovative use of the .NET architecture and web services" said Bjarne Riis, Partner Manager in Microsoft.
