Billund Airport opened in 1964 and was originally established on the LEGO company’s own grass airfield. Today the airport is the second largest airport in Denmark. Billund Airport opened a new passenger terminal in 2002. The passenger terminal is 40,000 m² in size and designed to handle 3.5 million passengers a year in accordance with the present traffic pattern.
