The Virk.dk portal has been developed as a private-public partnership. It is the first time in Denmark that public and private services have been integrated to such an extensive degree and is groundbreaking for a integration of central services for the public and private production.

Virk is groundbreaking because the portal collects a spectrum of public and private information and digital services in the business arena.

Virk is heavily founded in the 'Digital Administration', eErhverv. eErhverv is a service company consisting of The Ministry of Economics and Business Affairs,The Ministry for Taxation, Danish Ministry of Employment, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Danish Ministry of the Environment & Local Government in Denmark.

It is eErhverv’s goal to alleviate the burden of administrative tasks from the business community and ensure effective handling.
