More than 70% of visitors enter or leave New Zealand via Auckland Airport, which handles over 13 million passengers a year. More than 30 international airlines serve Auckland Airport, Australasia’s second busiest international airport, after Sydney. As New Zealand's gateway, Auckland Airport has invested in the capacity and services to ensure it will cope with an anticipated 24 million passengers a year by 2025, reflecting New Zealand’s growing popularity as one of the world’s leading tourism destinations.
Working closely with Sitecore partner, Datacom, Auckland Airport redesigned the website which delivered an intuitive user interface, improved information architecture, multiple templates for different content types, effective search engine optimization and a flexible framework for future development. With Sitecore, non-technical business users now have more control over the website, and can easily manage the content.
Today, the Auckland Airport site communicates key messages to a number of different audiences each with specific and unique requirements, from flight arrival and departure time information, to property leasing opportunities, retail showcasing and investor information. A key function of the site gathers flight data from a centralized flight information database and presents it to users allowing them to sort and search arrival and departure flight details. Within three weeks of the new website going live, usage of the site had almost doubled and specific search phrase indexing had increased markedly in key search engines.

Bekaert, market leader in advanced metal transformation and advanced materials and coatings, chose Sitecore to manage its new corporate global website. Working with Sitecore partner, The Reference, they built a new website that presents a complex product portfolio available in 120 countries in a transparent and uniform way. It replaces more than 30 former websites worldwide, and will serve as the global gateway to the Bekaert world.
Best Consumer Goods Site: FrieslandCampina

FrieslandCampina reaches millions of people in more than one hundred countries around the world, with milk products, cheese, butter and ingredients. FrieslandCampina aims to help people to move forward in life by getting more out of milk. A co-operative, they have more than 130 years of commitment to sustainable dairy.
Working with Sitecore partner, eFocus, FrieslandCampina built their new site in less than 13 weeks. Today, FrieslandCampina.com is a very voluminous site with functionality such as an interactive storybox, video integration, wiki, milkfacts, Q&A, News, Events, a tagcloud, downloadcenter, innovations, products, brands, search possibility, and automatic language selection. FrieslandCampina is taking advantage of the metatags within Sitecore, to match related content -- including articles, WIKI, links and teasers.
Best Electronics Site: Pioneer

Pioneer Electronics is a world leader in electronics products for the car, home, professional DJ as well as commerce and industry. Pioneer is respected for its role in introducing such innovations as interactive cable TV, consumer laser disc, GPS car navigation, DVD-Video player, high definition plasma display and more recently the first full High-Definition plasma panel capable of 1080p format. Pioneer was the first company in the world to introduce a DVD recorder and a DVD audio player into the market. Embracing the corporate motto “Move the Heart, Touch the Soul", Pioneer employs over 38,000 staff in its worldwide consumer electronics business and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Euronext Amsterdam, Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Securities Exchange.
The Pioneer Electronics site is a marketing tool for their innovative products. They recently implemented Sitecore to create a fully accessible site with improved SEO functionality and rich media components. Flash Group, a Sitecore partner, worked with Pioneer to build their site and help them achieve their online goals.
Best Hospitality Site: Regardz

Under the umbrella brand Regardz, the company has three labels; Regardz Meeting Centers, Regardz Regardz Hotels and Regardz Event Centers. With seventeen locations nationwide, Regardz is the largest business conference organization in the Netherlands. Their mission is to bring business people together with a 'bite'. Whether it is a training, meeting, event or a large conference, Regardz provides all of the necessities to get best out of meetings.
Working with Sitecore partner, eFocus, Regardz adopted Sitecore to build an innovative online presence that offers site visitors a place to request meetings, book rooms, register for events, sign up to receive newsletters, order train tickets, receive RSS feeds, and more. The interactive site now has a strong brand identity and the look and feel of the site was designed to inspire, surprise, and stimulate. Since going live with Sitecore, both site traffic and site conversion have increased.
Best Media/Sports Site: Telesport
Implementation Partner: Carnation
Telesport is the most popular sport program in Hungarian Television and it has an extensive multimedia presence as well. The telesport.hu portal provides sport-related news, images and video streams about the latest Hungarian and international sports events.
Working with Sitecore partner, Carnation, the only Microsoft Gold Certified Partner online communication agency in Hungary, Hungarian Television implemented the Sitecore CMS. Carnation added customized video and image gallery services, as well as live video functionality. The new site is now able to provide the most up-to-date sports news, videos, and information for more than 30,000 visitors each day. Telesport recently covered the EURO2008 and Olympic games, along with high-quality live video events online. During the Olympic Games more than one and half million site downloads were registered on the site and there were 25,000 concurrent online visitors of the high quality live stream, which is a record in Hungary.
Best Healthcare Site: ZNA (Hospital Network Antwerp)

The largest care provider in Belgium, ZNA Hospital Network Antwerp is made up of nine hospitals, and covers more than 32 municipalities. With 2,650 nurses and 600 physicians, the ZNA cares for approximately 6,000 patients each day resulting in over one million consulting sessions each year and 75.000 hospital stays.
With a large number of hospitals, doctors, nurses, and patients, data centralization in a complex organization was the driving force for the new site. ZNA needed to be able to deliver up-to-date data of physicians and their consulting sessions without extra data management. Working with Sitecore partner Delaware Consulting, ZNA was able to tie in several internal data sources. Because of the flexibility of Sitecore, they were able to facilitate this centralization process -- resulting in a fully automated dataflow, starting from the appointment scheduling software merged with organizational data.
For site visitors, ZNA built a “my brochure” feature. This feature allows the patient to collect all the information, covering his specific needs, while browsing. For example, a patient can collect the schedules of given physicians, financial information, practicals of a hospital, and more – which is combined into his own personalized and printable brochure. This reduces the printing costs for the organization but also delivers perfectly tailored information for patients. In the near future the website will also act as a portal for doctors to communicate with the hospital and to exchange patient data.
