Bristol Airport

United Kingdom: December 06, 2005

Bristol International Airport , BIA came to 3Sixty with a very clear brief. They wanted a website that could be easily updated in-house, that conformed as far as possible with Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) best practice and, above all, allowed users to quickly and easily find the information they were after.
The new BIA website uses the Sitecore content management system, which allows non-technical in-house staff to edit, add and delete content via a user-friendly browser based interface.
Strenuous efforts have been made to make the new BIA website as accessible to as many visitors as possible, regardless of physical abilities or software. A statement on the steps take to make the site accessible is online at www.bristolairport.co.uk/accessibility.aspx
3Sixty used a number of techniques, including in-depth use-cases and usability testing of wireframes to help determine the site’s navigation system and to test the designs. Prominent links to popular pages, such as the arrivals and departures boards, online parking booking and airport facilities have been “bubbled” up to the home page, making it easy for visitors to access their favourite pages within a single click.
Now that the website is live, 3Sixty are turning their attention to developing BIA’s digital marketing strategy for 2006. Watch this space!
