On Thursday last week, the website of the Boy Scout Organisation, Scoutnet – or “KFUM Spejdenet” was awarded “The best association website in Denmark” by “Ehandelsprisen” – an e-trade award created by a number of participating companies comprised of, amongst others, Microsoft, Cisco Systems and the Danish finance paper, Børsen.

Scoutnet was created by Sitecore solution partner Tectura, in association with Codehouse, also a Sitecore solution partner, and based, of course on the Sitecore CMS system.

The award ceremony took place on Thursday February 10th. The award, which was given by the Minister of Science Helge Sander, consists of a piece of art by Frithiof Johansen as well as, of course, the honour.
The judge, MP Morten Helveg Petersen, justified the choice with the words:
” A fun and serious solution, which really shows the scout spirit. A smart design – and a permanent focus on the target group - both those who are scouts and those who want to become one. A movie with a charming self irony. The promotion of the sense of community with calendar, web mail , file sharing etc. Plenty of good spirit. Whether you are a scout or not – it is not a site you want to leave !”
The KFUM-Scouts received the award out of 17 nominees, amongst those a number of sports clubs and the Home Guard.
The KFUM-Scoutsare happy to receive the e-trade award 2005, Hans Henrik K. Madsen, member of the KFUM-Scouts board and chairman of the Communication board says:
”Scoutnet has been a big investment for us. The award is a recognition which we will bring on with us in the continuous work with Scoutnet. We have had high goals since the beginning to get a certain standard as a starting point. The Scoutnet should be a little special, be stable and modern, in order to get through and have an impact in the association. The fact that we now received this award convinces us that we took the right decision and gives us courage to continue the work of elaborating Scoutnet, primarily among the KFUM-Scouts, but non-scouts may also benefit form a trip on the Scoutnet."
The award in the ”Best website for the spare time and association Denmark” was given for the first time this year. The award is given to an association, volunteer organisation or person which in an especially prominent way gives a service to members and interested parties via the Internet.
