The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) have chosen Sitecore CMS for their new law assembly portal.

Electric Farm will assist the UDI in building their new law assembly portal (RVP). RVP shall present the governing law in the area of immigration for the Directorate of Immigration.

The new portal will replace the existing electronic law assembly database, and will offer a new and improved user interface as well as simplify the handling of documents in the database. RVP will also make it easier for the users to navigate and search among the documents.

The solution from Electric Farm will be implemented using Sitecore CMS and Ankiro Site Search. Sitecore CMS is well adapted to all advanced publishing needs, and in particular to the complex document mass which UDI must make accessible via RVP. RVP will, through Ankiro Site Search, get a search engine which both understands Norwegian and contains its own thesaurus for words and expressions which are used by the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration.

About the UDI

The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) was created on 1 January 1988. It was the result of a reorganisation of responsibility for immigration policy and immigration-related activities.

Since its inception, the UDI has grown considerably, both in the extent of its responsibilities and in terms of staff numbers. With effect from 1 July 2000, for example, the Directorate took over responsibility for interviewing refugees, a task previously performed by the police.
