Newly designed site enables catalog to be immediately updated and content available in the format chosen by the customer
San Francisco, April 29, 2008 - Sitecore, the leading provider of .NET Web Content Management System (CMS) and portal software, today announced that Royal Copenhagen, a global provider of porcelain home craft products, has deployed Sitecore’s Web CMS to improve its customer’s web experience. Now, Royal Copenhagen can immediately update its catalog while presenting its products in compelling ways that work best for their online customers. The new web site has generated improved customer satisfaction and increased sales.
Sitecore partnered with Creuna, a full-service digital agency with offices in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Creuna was able to leverage Sitecore’s open architecture to integrate content from multiple sources and weave it into a seamless, interactive experience. Now, visitors have more powerful search capabilities and greater flexibility when browsing products to purchase. For example, customers can browse and search for products based on multiple categories, rather than having to page through an entire catalog on the website.
“Sitecore is best of breed – because it allows us to take content from mission critical systems and draw it out and extend it,” said Mads Gustafsen, Market Manager of Creuna. “With Sitecore’s Web CMS, we knew that we could take existing content and enrich it and extend it to maximize the unique aspects of the Web. This creates increased customer conversions, increased sales, and more satisfied customers.”
Sitecore enables Royal Copenhagen to integrate sophisticated e-commerce and merchandising systems into the website. This gives Royal Copenhagen the support it needs to integrate ecommerce technologies, to handle transactions faster, and gives content managers the ability to change and enhance the web experience to keep the site up-to-date.
“The new site is completely in line with our web and marketing strategy,” said Tevin Lac, e-business manager of Royal Copenhagen. “Our brand is not only recognizable, but the site is compelling for customers around the world. Sitecore is engineered to harness content from all places throughout our organization and brings it together – optimized for how the customer wants to see the content.”
“Sitecore’s Web CMS has enabled Royal Copenhagen’s website to evolve from a web version of its paper catalog to an interactive experience,” said Darren Guarnaccia, VP Product Marketing, Sitecore. “Royal Copenhagen now can provide dynamic content and presentation flexibility. Visitors find what they are looking for far more easily in a manner comfortable to them, and they stay longer, perusing more items because they are more fully enjoying the experience.”
