Formed in 1978 GHMC quickly established a reputation as one of the country’s leading promotional marketing agencies. Moving to a converted coaching inn on the river in Hampton in 1984 the Agency continued to grow steadily and from a firm financial basis - servicing a number of well-established long term clients such as Budweiser, Colgate Palmolive, TDK and Tetley.
GHMC developed over time into a broad-based, integrated marketing agency providing advertising and marketing services on a UK, pan-European and global basis. This lead to the establishment of their first US office in Kansas, set up to handle the Colgate Palmolive business in North America. The success of this office has resulted in the set up of another US office in New York.
In 2001, GHMC fully encompassed all digital disciplines with the acquisition of Red Square, a Richmond based Direct Marketing and Digital Agency of some 25 people. This acquisition strategy also saw the establishment of Tiger Red as the Agency’s Bristol Office in 2005. Tiger Red was a leading independent Experiential Agency handling a large amount of business for Honda & Cathay Pacific amongst others. It now spearhead’s the GHMC’s experiential activity.
2006 saw the Agency expand into a second building in Hampton and the merging of other specialist Agencies within the Geoff Howe Group into the main Agency. Of particular impact was the integration of ‘Flare’ into the Agency. Flare was an award-wining specialist digital Agency in its own right and now forms a major part of GHMC’s enhanced and enlarged digital department.
GHMC now handles a broad range blue chip business, hubbing out of Hampton but servicing clients across Europe and the world. The Agency has developed specialist knowledge across many sectors over the years but has particular knowledge and capabilities in the student and youth sector with their work for Budweiser, Samsung, Nintendo and in particular UNITE student accommodation, the largest provider of student accommodation in the UK with 40,000 beds. GHMC prides themselves on their ability to provide 360 degree marketing – ensuring a consistent brand message to all clients’ stakeholders both on and off line. Key current clients: Fosters, UNITE, Samsung, Honda, Somerfield’s, The FA, BT, Cow & Gate, Perfect Pizza, Harlequins & Wella, amongst others.
