Sitecore Supported Modules
For many implementations, there are focused requirements, and Sitecore has a number of pre-built Solutions, referred to as Modules, which provide a fast and cost-effective way to extend Sitecore within a consistent framework. Some provide connectivity to existing systems, such as Microsoft SharePoint, Word, or Directory Services, while others add functionality like a Wiki, Blog, or Forums. Without having customers pay for or deal with the overhead of all of these components built into the product, these are available incrementally on an a la carte basis, when you want them.
Since introducing Sitecore CMS in 2002, we have built and productized a number of extremely useful modules. These are sold and supported as Sitecore branded products.

The Sitecore Community, and Shared Source Modules
No technology more so than the web supports and shares in the power of the community. The numerous Shared Source Modules which have been built by Partners and Customers around the world adds a vibrant strength and demonstrates the tremendous commitment to Sitecore and the .NET architecture.
These modules are downloadable at no charge from the Sitecore Developer Network (sdn5.sitecore.net) and supported by the community forum on a best effort basis, but not by Sitecore directly.
