Foundry Control Center
Foundry Control Center (FCC) gives administrators ways to manage thousands of sites in a single location, while distributing the day-to-day maintenance to local site managers. Administrators can deploy a new site with a few clicks of a mouse, and within minutes, new site managers will receive an email guiding them to their newly created site. Foundry Control Center also provides backup and restore functions, as well as site maintenance tasks and a dictionary management tool allowing administrators to override labels and interface options within the application.
Central Design Control
Foundry also supports the concept of site templating, allowing administrators to create pre-configured “site types” which are a collection of preset options, functionality and content that are installed when creating any new Foundry-based site. Foundry administrators control the design choices and feature options presented to the Local Site Manager, which enables organizations to limit the design choices and control branding of their affiliated sites, while the individual site managers have broad content flexibility within the framework.
Local Site Wizard
The overall palette of design choices and feature options presented to users in the Site Wizard is established by central Foundry administrators in the initial set up. With the easy learning curve of the Site Wizard, local Sites can be built initially with 10 minutes. When the look and feel needs to be updated, the local site manager can simply use the Site Wizard to make changes to the site design within a designated set of choices. Using the Site Wizard, a site manager can change structural site graphics (header, footer, etc.), text, colors and functionality for their individual site. The Site Wizard also provides language control options as well as the ability to preview the site and manage the site’s status.
In-context editing control
Sitecore Foundry provides a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editing environment for site managers as well as pre-packaged layouts for standard web pages, document lists and images.
Multiple language support
Sitecore Foundry supports websites in any language such as English, German, Spanish and French, including support for double-byte languages as well as providing user interface support for site managers in both English and Danish.
Immediate functionality Out of the box

Forums
The Foundry Forums module allows site managers to incorporate social computing into their local websites. Users can interact via the forums module, and be notified when others respond to their forum posts. |
 |
Extranet Security
Foundry sites can be enhanced by enabling security-based access to any content on a site. Site managers can enable the Extranet features on their website which then requires site visitors to log in to the site to receive secured information. Site managers can control which users will have access to the site, and limit what content those users have access to. |
 |
Email and SMS
Sitecore Foundry offers integrated communications technology within Foundry-based sites including email and Short Message Service (SMS) distribution capabilities. Users are able to control their subscriptions and can configure notifications that can be sent to them via email or SMS site-to-site. |
 |
Activity Calendar
Sitecore Foundry incorporates a modern Activity Calendar that gives you an easy way to inform your web visitors about pending activity like seminars, training, after-work meetings or other social activities. The Activity Calendar enables your site managers to present multiple events across days weeks and months. Site managers can also quickly attach signup forms, and view registered attendees. |

Photo Gallery
Sitecore Foundry provides a quick and easy way to present a series of pictures that visitors can view individually or as a slideshow. Site visitors can view these pictures as thumbnails or original sizes, and can optionally download any picture as well. |

Ad Spot Rotation
Sitecore Foundry supports the capability to have advertisements, calls to action, or notifications that can be rotated across a local site, or placed on individual pages. These ad “spots” can be configured in a variety of ways including how many spots can appear on a page, ads to be rotated, and where ad spots can be placed. |
