Sitecore 5.3.1 Certified Level 1 Developer
Prerequisites
Attendees are required to read the following documents before attending the training. This reading list is intended to ensure that attendees understand the concepts required to successfully complete the training.
Target Audience
This course is intended for web developers with little or no previous Sitecore experience. Attendees are assumed to have programming experience. Attendees will need to work with HTML, XSLT, and XPATH to complete the course objectives.
Goals
After successfully completing this course, trainees will be able to use the Sitecore V5 clients to build sophisticated web sites. Students will learn how to:
- define a site’s content structure,
- understand the stages of site definition, content specification, site previewing, and content publication,
- customize the content definition workflow to fit the business procedures of a specific Sitecore installation,
- design and implement reusable visual components to present content from a single source on multiple devices (browser, printer, handheld, and so on),
- configure the Sitecore security model to restrict access to content to appropriate Sitecore users and restrict access to extranet content to appropriate site visitors,
- and follow best practices when creating Sitecore components.

At the end of the training, all students must pass a certification exam in order to receive a Sitecore V5 Certified Developer certificate.
