Prerequisites
Successful completion of Sitecore Certified Developer - Level 1
Target Audience
This course is intended for web developers who have been certified as Sitecore Developers via SCD Level 1. Attendees are assumed to have programming experience. Attendees will need to work with C# and Visual Studio .NET to complete the course objectives.
Goals
After successfully completing this course, trainees will be able to use the Sitecore API to perform advanced tasks. Students will learn:
- The internals of the Sitecore architecture,
- The strategy used to organize the Sitecore web.config file,
- How to retrieve and modify content in various Sitecore databases,
- How to modify the default behavior of the Sitecore runtime and clients using event hooks and pipelines,
- How to create Sitecore web controls
- How to integrate external data sources.

Unlike earlier courses in the Sitecore developer certification track, this training bases certification on the successful completion of various LAB exercises. The training includes both required and optional exercises with assigned point values. Students earn points for each completed exercise. A minimum score is required to achieve certification.
