Sitecore 6.0 website .NET Developer (SND)
Prerequisites
Students must have strong C# programming skills, experience developing ASP.NET solutions and a high level of familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio.
At the end of the training, the instructor will administer a certification exam that tests whether the student understands the main concepts required to be an effective Sitecore developer.
Students who do not have strong .NET C# programming skills will most likely not pass this exam and should not attend this training. We recommend that students who do not have strong .NET C# programming skills attend the Website HTML Developer course.
Target Audience
This course introduces the basic concepts and techniques required to build a website using Sitecore V 6.
This is intended for developers who have strong .NET programming skills and whose job function requires them to extend the information architecture and develop presentation components associated with an existing Sitecore website or as part of the team developing a new Sitecore website.
Goals
Students who attend this course will learn how to:
• use Sitecore’s browser-based content management applications.
• extend existing content types to add new fields and create entirely new content types.
• dissect a page to discover the controls used to create it.
• extend and create presentation controls that display content on the Web site.
• configure the Sitecore applications so that business users can make approved design changes without the help of a developer.
In general, after attending this course, students will know how to create new areas of a website, including both the information architecture and presentation components required.
