Johan started working as a Uniface (4GL) consultant for Compuware, where he completed several projects for different clients. In the meantime he completed several courses concerning Microsoft development. After two years he started working for Enternet, a daughter company of Cronos, specializing in Browser Based Solutions as a Microsoft Consultant. During this period he completed several various projects: solutions based on Sharepoint, custom development, and more. Two years later he created the architecture of a Microsoft .NET based Content Management System and did the functional and technical project management to build this from scratch together with a team of five developers.

Back in 2004 he made the move to Real Software. Initially he started as an Architect/Team Leader with a team of 10 developers. After approximately one year, he became Unit Manager of the Microsoft .NET department, a team of about 25 developers & architects. One year later, he accepted the challenge to lead the entire Microsoft Department, consisting of 50 professionals. He was responsible for the operational & people management of this unit. Although he fulfilled this function, he didn’t wanted to lose touch with the technical expertise he had built up during the previous years.

Because he always wanted to work in a more international company combined with his CMS history, he made the choice to join Sitecore in May 2011 as a solution architect.
