Forrester Research, Inc. included Sitecore in its August 2009 report titled, “Five Additional Options to Consider for Web Content Management.” Sitecore was evaluated on features and functionalities in six categories: content authoring and ingestion, workflow administration, content integration, site and content targeting, multisite and global content management, and community controls. In the evaluation, Sitecore was the only firm to receive a 3 out of 4 ranking in five categories.
According to Forrester, “Sitecore shows strengths in many of the areas where [a competitor] shows weaknesses: multilingual content, targeting, and separation of content and presentation for dynamic delivery and content reuse. In addition, Sitecore’s new Online Marketing Suite (OMS) supports weighting page and component views by customer segments and provides real-time reports that reflect the “human experience” rather than URL calls.”
